Collision Course - S.C Stephens

Grab a man-size box of tissues before starting this one!

Lucas had it all—popularity, a devoted girlfriend, a brotherly best friend, and a loving mother who would do anything for him. His life was right on course to be successful and fulfilling…until the crash changed everything.

Lucas returns to school 3 months after the accident, living in a small town everyone talks and stories are twisted to suit whoever is telling them, so Lucas is living with hatred, gossip and lies. None of the people at school will talk to him, instead they look away and mutter about him, except from Sawyer, she is new to the school and is kind to him, even after hearing the rumours.

Sawyer is Lucas' 'angel' yet it is obvious she has been through something herself, but it takes a while for us to find out what. Although Lucas develops feelings for Sawyer, he constantly feels guilty.

During the Story Lucas is living two lives, his real life where he feels everything is lost, except Sawyer and he is also living through his dreams.

I was crying during the prologue never mind the actual story! This is a very emotional read. I have heard of accidents like this with a lone survivor and I have thought at the time how must that person feel? This book deals with the aftermath and the guilt that Lucas feels. S.C Stephens is a wonderful author who stirs up your emotions. The characters are so realistic and lovable. There is not too much drama or situations that just drag on like in the average young adult romance novel. I do not truly believe this is a young adult romance. It does have the confusing romantic edge to it but really this book is about losing some one tragically and needing love and understanding about how someone deals with it.

I highly recommend this book and S.C Stephens other novels, Thoughtless and Reckless.
